Mid-January update 2023
Some random notes on this relatively pleasant (to me) dark future early evening here in central Seattle.
-So congratulate me on
this new program I am in. I have a new Chromebook. It's mine to keep.
So paired with my rebuild (Industry) we have a younger sister in the
temple - Capital.
The program is looking like lit might be very
good for me; this is a longer subject and would be boring but the
last week has been overall a really good one. Though am totally and
completely broke right now lol Whatever.
- (Some of you might
want to skip this one CW Sex work)

I
suppose I shouldn't be surprised but I need to remember for future
reference that on nice and pleasant evenings like tonight when I
find myself out....Walking the Streets, I should really consider
wearing my Wonder woman top again.
Go figure.

moving
on to other matters
-going over (...gushing over) the second
proof for Jolly Scarlet and OMG I AM SO FUCKING HYPE. For every page I
just get a little charge. As they have done from the very beginning,
the team at kith books has done me right, nay, best. They are my
dream team and it is always a pleasure and an honor to work with
them.
In the meantime they have started putting out the balance
of the "winter collection" I am elevated to be anywhere
near these new works, they are one and all incredible.

-Bonemilk
volume two is out and the five pieces I have in there are the second
item in the compilation. The compilation itself is MIGHTY and some of
my very best contemporary indie lit writers and several very good
friends and colleagues have great work in there and I'm extra super
duper proud to have some work I am especially proud of alongside
theirs, which is much better. :)

-thanks
to my therapist who first introduced me to the idea and then this
specific program/organization (....and then wrote me a formal letter
of recommendation) I have registered for a semester's art program
here in the downtown area. In addition to giving me *workspace* omg
they give me all the supplies I need and (it would seem) a motherfuck
of networking opportunities. This is a big funding thing that
I have an inroads into because my therapist thinks it would be (very) good
for my trauma recovery
it will also, crassly (If registration
goes well) give me a chance to work in some media that I would
not otherwise get a chance to without paying a f'ton of money - and
because I am endlessly trying to push and challenge myself this
primarily means "art made with my hands" - some sculpture
for example. :)
-my therapist also keeps trying to put oil
pastels in my hands. I find it unlikely but look forward to the
opportunity to play with something like that without going broke in
minutes or stealing someone else's materials. FUN

the incredible people (again!) at Kith books I will be attending a
workshop in February
Writing to the Body: Poetry of Disability
and Illness
(which is a nice transition to......)
- the 2023 SAP conference is meeting in meatspace here in Seattle this year. I note this with some irritation. Gatekeeping is 500 dollars to walk in the door. Nonetheless, my editor will be there and if we move quickly Jolly Scarlet may drop just in time for that be at the show. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 It would make a better showing than I would anyway lol
-On that note I need to finish going over that proof so I can get it back to them so we can all get PBS grants or something. Maybe some awards. Or just pure outrage. I’m good with that too.
Either way,
it's Hostess fruit pie time. They're good for me, I know because the
Fantastic Four told me so.
Spider-man, and the Hulk, OTOH,
wanted me to eat twinkies.;)
