Breakfast in the Ruins

A tiny Book Completion Breakfast for the Maenad today.  (posted with a slight delay)  Finally put the Space Girl's Guide to the Empress Imperium  (available soon!  Releasing later this September) to bed I am glad I thought to budget for this, especially in light of this month’s rent increase!  Good times!   Anyway, I made a nice, large, cooked breakfast with proper ingredients and junk.    Delicious cod and polluck filets with an olive oil, garlic and a mix of cayenne, paprika and crushed red pepper  a dash of sea salt to finished On the side we have...vegetables I needed to use up.  Some sliced carrot, and partial bags of both broccoli and cauliflower (I know that never happens right)  chicken bouillon, a bit of msg, dill as fuck, pepper, garlic salt, onion powder,  some packet noodles to replace the sudden “Oh shit I thought I had those” 4 minute egg noodles I was going to use (fish was almost done!) some olive oil to make th...

Looking Forward (an ironically named retrospective of 2021)

Regardless of it’s other “interesting qualities,” I have had a mighty fucking year.     With the release of Sub-ether 03 later this month, Dreaming Gynoid studio has released a book a month (at least), each month, all year.    (While this is a fine achievement it is one I note most enthusiastically in the passing. I have no intention of working myself so hard next year thank you very much. Not like this.   Work better not harder.)  With the release of Galaxy Black this year , all of the major books I wanted to do there originally have been done and are out.    More relevant to this place,  I’ve had my words appear in six other publications this year (look left for links).    Come spring I will have work in three different anthologies, including another print book.   I had my first print publication with Lupercalia Press in the form of the Ishtar Cycle    which is – so far – the most important thing...

.....it's a soundtrack

Since about 1994 or so almost everything I write has gotten what I'll call a secret soundtrack album;  a combination of what's in my head when I'm writing the thing but also what was playing in the brackgrround anyway as I find that often is influential, or at least enough to interesting. Most of the time they do not survive very long.  Since starting on my first few Dreaming Gynoid studio books (this is my other writing gig, link takes you there) though I've thought it interesting to include them as freebies for my releases.  To the point that I now deliberately try to make good on point playlists for each release. I am a 22nd century multimedia ho with 21st century skills with analog equipment okay?   It doesn't really work for verse and poetry, for obvious reasons. However, sometime earlier this year I broke through whatever block I've had (for .. over ten years let's just leave it at that) with regard to writing prose fiction.   And since th...
