 a tiny little rant

This money has been running around in Arts’ veins for so long that no one questions it anymore.  The arts are the playground of the same 2200 people who are, with great commitment, and furious condescending anger, rapidly attempting to make this planet an uninhabitable, unlivable, feudal hell.

The arts do not need the money.  The ARTISTS need the money.  Since we’re still using this Capitalism Strawman for Economics bullshit model anyway.

Yes this has been a pattern throughout time, the brutal kings and rulers of the earth control the arts by way of funding.  This is in fact the very problem I am speaking of.  We don’t need it.  We don’t want it.    Fuck your patronage fuck your funding.  If the arts require the patronage of oil baron gasoline child molesters then the arts can BURN.   MoMA> Burn it. 

What?  Oh NOWS you want to save your precious art

Oh.

Move the art then.  

We’ll give you the change. BUT 

They are all coming down

The Arts industry is going down

The Arts don’t need it

The arts don’t want it.  

Free the arts

Free the arts from this anguished and diseased tension

Tear the Arts free from the grasp of their tormentor

Open the cages, unlock the doors[1],

Pry the riches of the world form the withered and age-clutching

Hands of the oil kings, dukes of pharmacy and aerospace. 

Chase them and their bannermen out of the galleries

You who curate for the Gettys, the Rockefellers, all the petty

You better run, faster than my paintbrush, keyboard, 

We all have cameras, We are going to shoot shoot shoot

Well trod garden paths

  ... Has been a long hard trip. I’ve had … other years as challenging as this one. 2001 when I left Texas, 2004 when I had to leave university (and San Angelo, where my kid was) as I had no where else to live, and of course 2008 when I moved to California and lost my fucking mind. All of these, rough, some voluntary, some not, hard times of ungentle transition. Many bridges are burning, even though I did not light them. All I had to do was insist on my boundaries and my needs, and let those who would not – could not – respect this, find the door out of my life. And like some of those years, this has been among the worst years of my life. It wasn’t *all* bad of course. I’ve grown, tremendously, I’ve done actual metric fuckloads of self-work this year. Capsule Review - Trans Dimensional Beings

 I loved this album - I did not intend to listen to it in it's entirety at first sitting but it sucked my perceptions in, and did so in the best way almost immediately.   To me it is very centering and oddly calming. Like a controlled factory reset for the brain, about 11 or 12 times consecutively.   This is a unique and highly experimental sound and I dig it a great deal.   It's wonderful.  Trans Dimensional Beings on Soundcloud
