 This year has been the deadliest in the West Bank since 2005. “We're hearing helicopters and gunfire," a colleague of mine shared recently. "It's like there is a war going on.” Since the start of the year, 130 Palestinians, including 28 children, lost their lives due to the ongoing violence in the West Bank. During October, 29 Palestinians were killed in what’s been the deadliest month thus far. The youngest victim was just 12 years old. Over 400 have been injured.

Anera is an aid organization without political or religious affiliations, helps Palestinian refugees and vulnerable communities in Palestine (Gaza/West Bank), Lebanon and Jordan.

In 2021, Anera distributed 117,175 hot meals for struggling families, repaired 1,198 damaged homes and businesses, and delivered $87 million worth of medicines and healthcare supplies in the region. Our on-the-ground staff are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to ensure relief and humanitarian aid are delivered promptly and to the areas that need it most.

  ... Has been a long hard trip. I’ve had … other years as challenging as this one. 2001 when I left Texas, 2004 when I had to leave university (and San Angelo, where my kid was) as I had no where else to live, and of course 2008 when I moved to California and lost my fucking mind. All of these, rough, some voluntary, some not, hard times of ungentle transition. Many bridges are burning, even though I did not light them. All I had to do was insist on my boundaries and my needs, and let those who would not – could not – respect this, find the door out of my life. And like some of those years, this has been among the worst years of my life. It wasn’t *all* bad of course. I’ve grown, tremendously, I’ve done actual metric fuckloads of self-work this year. Capsule Review - Trans Dimensional Beings

 I loved this album - I did not intend to listen to it in it's entirety at first sitting but it sucked my perceptions in, and did so in the best way almost immediately.   To me it is very centering and oddly calming.
